Závěrečný komentář

Ověřování efektivity intervencí čelí řadě metodologických obtíží. V čase se proměňují diagnostická kritéria, většina osob s autismem má přidruženou jednu nebo více komorbidit, diagnostika v raném věku je méně spolehlivá. Strukturované výchovné a behaviorální intervence se konstantně ukazují jako efektivní a souvisí s lepší prognózou (Volkmar, 2014). Žádný ze základních modelů se nejeví jako superiorní a univerzální. Úspěch terapeutických intervencí záleží na osobních charakteristikách dítěte, klinických projevech, rodičovském přístupu i odborných kompetencích poradenského pracovníka a terapeuta. I přes stále se zvyšující vědomosti a četnější výzkumy zůstávají naše znalosti o účinnosti intervencí limitovány. Pro dobrou, na důkazech založenou praxi je nutné pokračovat, rozvíjet kontrolované výzkumy a jejich výstupy propojovat s praxí.
